Join me on this extraordinary food safari to Sri Lanka with respected tour company, World Expeditions. From street food and egg hoppers to tea inspired dinners at some of Sri Lanka’s finest dining establishments, I will take you behind the scenes to meet the people and discover the spices that make up Sri Lanka’s melting pot and which first ignited my passion for food.
From the palm fringed west coast, we travel to the ancient capital Anuradhapura, visiting both its world heritage listed ruin sites as well as its Elephant Orphanage. We continue to the rock fortress of Sigiriya before heading to the hill town of Kandy with its splendid botanical gardens and lush tea plantations. We spend a night in the luxurious Lighthouse Hotel in Galle designed by the late Geoffrey Bawa and in the Uda Walawe National Park we will stay in luxury mobile tents and enjoy a sumptuous feast under the stars.
Along the way we will try our hand at making egg hoppers and kottu roti as well as cooking our curry lunch in clay pots over an open fire. These are but a few of the incredible food experiences you will have on this truly inspired journey. This is a food safari like no other. We hope you can join us!
