In early 2013, in partnership with ingenious adventure travel agency World Expeditions, Peter took his first group tour to Sri Lanka.
During the 10-day trip the intrepid group climbed Mt Sigiriya (where Peter cooked the Kings Curry in ‘My Sri Lanka’), met rescued turtles at the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, got up close with orphaned elephants at the Uda Walawe Elephant Transit Home and learned to cook a veritable menu of dishes from Sri Lanka’s favourite ‘short eats’ to curries, hoppers and much more.
Peter blogged about the trip each step of the way, you can read them HERE.
Following the overwhelming success of World Expedition’s first Sri Lankan adventure with Peter they scheduled two more, one in October/November 2013 and the next in early 2014. The 2013 trip has already completely sold out.
If you’re dying to go but 10 days in Sri Lanka is a bit hard to arrange, World Expeditions has brought a little taste of the trip to a sunny beach in Noosa, in Peter’s brand new Noosa Beach House restaurant at the Sheraton, in fact.
Spaces are extremely limited and filling fast so BOOK HERE for this very special Sri Lankan dinner with Peter Kuruvita. Recipes featured at this one-off dinner are traditional Sri Lankan favourites, taught to Peter by his grandmother. Peter will also tell tales of his youth in Sri Lanka, growing up in his grandmother’s kitchen, becoming a chef and how his tour will take you to the real Sri Lanka, his Sri Lanka.
